“...relief in the arms of a birch is all the proof I need of what they were up to in the world.” Yes. 🙏

Aram, I am so glad Annette Garber told me you are posting on Substack! And she told me to begin at the beginning. Yes!

Several months ago, during the latter days of our Eco-Ministry (Spirituality) course, as I was pondering where my deep love and gratitude for trees came from, I realized that my father had planted a tree in my soul. He was a horticulturalist and owned a nursery, a small business on 20 acres or so serving the needs of homeowners wanting to beautify their property. I worked there from age 8 or so until I finished college and I did many things connected to growing trees and bushes. I feel connected to both but it is trees who speak to me.

This is a long personal response and I will stop here -- am realizing I am thinking of starting a Substack and will want to write more.

So I can’t be sure of earlier ancestors, not yet anyway, but that ancestor touches my soul yet today in the oaks and pine and dogwood and maple and beech and spruce and more, many more.

BRAVO, for sharing your life and wisdom with us. I look forward to much more.
